About Long Island’s East End:

Long Island’s East End consists of the Town of Riverhead, Town of Southampton, Town East Hampton, Town of Southold, Shelter Island and the villages and hamlets located within them. The North Fork is known for its farms, orchards, and quaintness while the South Fork is known for its trendy restaurants, shopping, vacation spots, and large estates. 

The East End, particularly in the Hamptons, sees a significant increase in visitors during the summer months and weekends as affluent residents from the city set off to the Hamptons for their vacations. The North Fork sees a significant increase in the volume of visitors during the summer and fall as New Yorkers from western Long Island and the city visit the many farms and wineries located throughout the North Fork. An annual pilgrimage to the North Fork is a must for any Long Islander with young children during pumpkin season.
