About Saratoga County, New York:

Saratoga County is located in eastern New York State directly north of Albany. The county encompasses an area of 844 square miles, with a population of approximately 230,000.  The name comes from the Iroquois word meaning “the hill beside the river”. The river refers to the Hudson River to the east, and the Mohawk River to the south.

Saratoga County is actually bordered by eight counties – Warren County Rensselaer County, Washington County, Montgomery County, Albany County, Fulton County, Schenectady County, and Hamilton County,

Other popular sites include Saratoga spa State Park, Moreau State Park, Saratoga National Historic Park, The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Peebles Island State Park, the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame, Saratoga Automobile Museum, the Saratoga Winery, and the Ulysses S. Grant Cottage National Historic Landmark.
