Bronx County is located north of Manhattan and Queens, and south of Westchester County. It occupies 42.5 square miles and is the only NYC borough that is primarily located on the mainland. It was the last of the 62 counties to be incorporated in New York. It is known for Yankee Stadium and is home to Poe Cottage, where famous author Edgar Allan Poe spent his remaining years. From Fordham University to the State University of New York Maritime College in Fort Schuyler—the leader in maritime education in the country and home to the Maritime Industry Museum—to three CUNY schools: Bronx Community College, Herbert H. Lehman College, and Hostos Community College.

In 2020, the median sales prices for residential homes in the Bronx was $375,000, making it the least expensive of the Five Boroughs to purchase a home.
